Florida at G-Ma's

Brad, Brady and I packed up and headed down to Florida to my mom's. My mom was gracious to throw Brad and I a wedding celebration at her club. Wally, Sally, Nyle and Marley as well as Lori and Meredith also made the trip. It was great to spend time with family and to see and meet all my mom's friends. Brady was so excited for the plane trip. He loved looking out the window and was very well behaved throughout the whole trip.


Nyle and Marley were great with their younger cousins. They were always around to lend a helping hand. Here are all the grand kids swimming in the pool. Brady is still a little timid in the water unlike Meredith who is a fish and loves swimming on her own.

The party was held at my mom's club, Crown Colony. We had a great time eating great food, dancing and talking to all mom's friends.

My great friend, Lindsay, who I played soccer with growing up made the trip down as well with her husband, Tim, and kids Jake and Abby. The Tyrrells have been great friends to our family for a long time.

Meet Lenny and Kristy... my mom's adopted Florida children. Lenny is an assistant pro at the club who somehow has enough patience to give my mom her weekly golf lessons :) Lenny and Kristy got married last November.

After being in a car, a plane, a train, and another plane back to Kansas City we were finally on the bus to our car. The kids did very well and were still playful up until the point they both crashed on the car ride home.

Potty Power

We spent the weekend in Potty Boot Camp. We stayed home all weekend and Brady and the Potty became very good friends. We started out on Saturday morning with Thomas the Train big boy underwear. We had several accidents before Brady started to understand when and how to use the potty. He quickly understood that every successful trip to the potty ended with him receiving money to put in his new train signal piggy bank. On Sunday Meredith and Aunt Lori came over for a Potty Party where we watched lots of potty movies. Brady and Meredith both did a great job giving each other high fives with successful pee pee in the potty. We even managed to get some shots that will likely turn into blackmail in the future :)

Mark and Kara's Wedding

On New Year's Eve Brad and I attended the wedding of our great friends Mark and Kara. The day started out with a beautiful church wedding where Kara became Mrs. Mark Friel! After the wedding we hopped on the Kool Nites Limousine for some fun and refreshments. We ended up at Jerry's Bait Shop where the wedding party took some pictures and munched on some Pyramid Pizza (Kara and Mark's favorite). After watching some of the KU football game we got back on the bus and headed for the reception site. The night ended with a balloon drop at midnight. What a great way to spend New Years! Thanks Kara and Mark for a great time.
